I just wanted to write to thank you for all that you did to support the funeral of Sergeant Major F. I was so pleased to be able to work with you again albeit unfortunately in the saddest of circumstances. From the very start you could not do more to help the family or ourselves as we sought to do the best for the Sergeant Major and his family. Throughout all the planning, your expertise was invaluable and your willingness to go the extra mile shone through. I know I asked an awful lot of you and this was very obvious after seeing you at the Saturday rehearsal after having been up all night. I fully appreciate just how much you did for us behind the scenes and I am very aware that Newcastle to Lichfield is not your normal radius of activity. Your gentle care of the family throughout the day and indeed day before, showed to me a firm of Funeral Directors at the very top of their game. I would be so grateful if you could pass the Regiment’s thanks and my own personal thanks to all those from Salt and Sons who ensured collectively we did the very best by Sergeant Major F and his family.
